The Kensington Public School Difference

A Strong Start for Every Child

We empower students to become curious, critical and creative thinkers. We recognise students as individuals and support them to become confident and committed learners, ready to embrace new challenges and contribute positively to their world.

Shaping Thinkers, Creators and Innovators

We are a connected learning community where every child is encouraged to explore, question and create. Our innovative programs and wide range of rich learning experiences foster a love of discovery, build self-belief and equip students to think deeply, develop their skills and pursue their passions with purpose.

Strong Partnerships With Families for Student Growth

We are a caring, collaborative and inclusive learning community where our experienced teachers and learning and wellbeing teams work closely with families to support every child’s development. Families choose our school for our strong reputation in nurturing partnerships that ensure each child is known, valued and cared for. Together, we form a team around every learner, co-designing plans that build on strengths, meet the needs of the whole child and celebrate individual progress.

"Kensington Public School is a school with a nurturing environment which engages and empowers our kids to learn and socialise. The school blends together all elements of a holistic education which includes a three-way partnership. The students, parents and teachers all work together for our one goal." — a parent of Kensington Public School

We the students and staff of Kensington Public School would like to acknowledge the Bidgigal and Gadigal clans of the Eora nation. We must respectfully remember that the land underneath our school always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

We honour the Elders who have shared their knowledge and show our gratitude to the traditional custodians who have cared for Mirabooka the Swan, Kurpinta the Kookaburra, Balamarra the Brolga and Pindaree the Lyrebird. Together we promise we will look after the trees, plants, flowers and animals that are a part of our school community.

We pay respect to the Elders both past, present and emerging as they hold the language, culture and traditions of the local Aboriginal people today.
